A pilot validation of the methodology for assessing the environmental footprint of production (Scope 2) and consumption

A pilot validation of the methodology for assessing the environmental footprint of production (Scope 2) and consumption was carried out by scientists from the Charles University Environment centre.

The study demonstrates how to assess the environmental footprint of production and energy consumption within Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy) using  a numerical example. It focuses on calculating greenhouse gas emissions for the needs of climate verification. It elaborates in detail on Scope 2 of the GHG Protocol, i.e. the determination of embodied carbon emissions in purchased electricity and supplied heat (including cooling and DHW). The document describes the assessment procedure for the 1st phase of the climate verification, including the climate neutrality assessment.

The document describing the methodology and its validation can be downloaded here.
