Scenarios and analysis of technological developments in the field of decarbonization
Researchers from the Technology Center Prague have prepared an analysis of technological developments in the field of decarbonization as part of the SEEPIA project.
Decarbonization, i.e. the process of reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, is a key element of climate policy in the Czech Republic and the European Union. The goal of decarbonization is the transition to a low-carbon economy, which includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the share of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency. Given that climate change represents one of the greatest challenges of our time, it is essential that states and supranational organizations take effective measures to protect the environment and human health. The analysis of technological developments in the field of decarbonization provides a robust basis for creating scenarios for future energy development.
The study presents current trends relevant to the area of decarbonization, political and strategic goals for strengthening decarbonization, national and European legislation and directives for decarbonization, national strategies and plans and other instruments in the Czech Republic relevant to decarbonization, measures for addressing decarbonization, technological solutions for decarbonization and new technologies for decarbonization.
